Ashton's 5th Sundae and Swimming Party

Last Saturday we had Ashton's 5th birthday party. And what a special time he had! He set the agenda for the party and it included the following:

1. We must have an apple eating contest. His cousing Cooper took first place with NINE apples...while most of the other kids barely got ONE apple in their mouths!

#2 - we must have a pig troft-like icecream event. I did this as a middle schooler and Ashton heard about it and insisted that he wanted to do the same at his party. I couldn't find a troft, so we got a plastic gutter from Home Depot...filled it up with LOTS of icecream and put bowls of M&Ms, chopped peanuts, chocolate sprinkles, fruity sprinkles, cherries, whipped cream, chocolate syrup and peanut butter syrup out for the kids to pass around. Only rule was that they HAD TO USE THEIR HANDS!!! No utensils allowed. What a kid's dream, huh?
They had an absolute ball!!! There were kids just picking up scoops of icecream and eating it like a piece of toast! We saw nuts go a-flying, syrup poured on by the bucket load and whipped cream squirting everywhere!!!

Ashton kept telling me over and over again how much he loved his birthday. He especially liked the food fight part...what kid wouldn't, huh?
