Memom Georgini

***I just realized that I never published this post after I wrote it***

Preston's Grandmother on his mothers side had been battling cancer for a while now. It pretty much had spread everywhere in her body. Luckily, with the help of various drugs, she didn't really feel much pain.

For the past seven weeks my mother-in-law, Michelle, has been living with her and at her side 24/7. Memom lived in Wildwood, FL so she was also away from her own home here in Orlando. Michelle pretty much did everything for her, from bathing to feeding, dressing and just being by her side, giving her comfort.

This past Friday Memom passed away to be with the Lord. As with most deaths, especially involving sickness, it is a bittersweet moment. On one hand we grieve for OUR loss, however joyful that she has gone on to her REAL home with the Lord and given a new body free from cancer and ailments!

Monday we traveled down there to be apart of the viewing at the funeral home. For over three hours people streamed into pay their respects. It was amazing the amount of support she received. Memom was born and raised in this small town, and it was appearant that she had many friends.

Tuesday was the funeral and it was very precious. She was a member of First Baptist of Wildwood for SEVENTY years...wow! After the graveside ceremony was over we went back to the church and all the ladies of the church had brought in a TON of good home country cooking for us to eat! There were just tables and tables of food and dessert...it was such a special meal...I know Memom would have been pleased!
