How much do you fear God?

I listened to one of the message series (which by the way are great) and one of the stories that the pastor talked about really spoke to me...



One day he was walking and he felt the voice of God speak to him and tell him to give this woman that was walking near him the money that was in his wallet. He opened his wallet and saw a $5 bill. He approached the woman and told her that he was felt lead to give her this money. She immediately began to worship God in front of him. She explained to him that she woke up that morning and felt that God was telling her to find a church to worship Him at. Her problem was that she had enough money for gas to get her there, but did not have enough money for gas on the way home. But she was obedient to what God told her and left anyways. The pastor's $5 was God's provision over her and her obedience to follow Him no matter what. What a blessing that was to BOTH of them to see God work in both of their lives that day...



Several years later, he felt the same calling to give to a man this time, whatever was in his wallet. He opened his wallet and saw a $100 bill!!! He hemmed and hawed and decided to resist this calling. The man walked on.



To this day, he wonders what that $100 bill was to be used for in the other man's life. What blessings could that have brought to both of them if only he was obedient.



You see, he feared God enough with the $5 bill, but his fear of the Lord stopped once it reached sacrificing $100. He had his "limits" so to speak.



How much do you fear God?
