We've definitely stepped it up this year in regards to our curriculum. It's extremely rich and meaty stuff, and with two boys now doing big boy work (so long easy K/1st grade work), our school day is definitely more packed and longer. I'm not complaining, it's just taking some getting used to. We are all pretty wiped out at the end of the day! :)
Ethan continues to put a smile on my face during our night time conversations. Those seem to be THE BEST time for heart felt moments between us. Our most recent talks surrounded, yet again, about his future spouse and how he would know who God has for him. He so often talks about the future and his bride to be, even putting all his money in his savings account so that he will have plenty of money to have MANY MANY children, as he puts it. Such big thoughts from a little guy, but I see his heart and it warms me to no end.
Ashton is growing by leaps and bounds. His ability to handle the challenges that come with being in 2nd grade has really improved. Just in the few weeks of school his writing has greatly improved, his endurance has definitely improved and his reading ability is really starting to soar.
This week's verse for us is:
When pride comes, then comes disgrace
But with humility comes wisdom
Proverbs 11:2
So we are spending a lot of time talking at length about being humble, being a team player, and not being self-focused. Small little seeds that are being planted in my children, watering them and seeing them grow is such a blessing.
Thank you Lord for your Word, that we may train our children in righteousness.
