We've been in this rental house for 1 1/2 years (Wow! Crazy!!) and Preston and I have been sharing the load of the daily dish duty. There is no dishwasher here so we use paper plates for the most part, but we manage to rack up quite a bit of pots, pans, silverware, and cups to clean. We recently started training the boys to help with this chore.
Preston is training Ashton on the right way to clean and organize properly on the drying rack!
School continues to go well. We are currently studying Greek mythology and the names of the gods/goddesses they worshipped and feared, and how many of our planets were named after them. In doing so, we also made our own name signs for the boys' bedroom. They were to center their name, along with its meaning and draw designs and objects around their name of hobbies, activities or other interests that spoke to who they are.
Ethan, STRONG AND ENDURING. He chose the Florida Gators, Christ, golf and football.
Ashton, means from the Ash Tree. Ashton said that he was okay with his name because
after all this tree is large and strong! :) He chose dogs, Christ, swimming, FSU and a boom box
to describe him.
On Thursday, a friend of mine who works the audio for WWE (World Wrestling Entertainment), gave us complimentary tickets to attend a live taping of the show. We were excited and really had no clue as to what to expect.
We got our seats and Ethan noted quite a few times that we were definitely OVER DRESSED with the boys in collared shirts and khacki shorts, me in an argyle sweater! LOL The crowd around us was "interesting" to say the least. These people were EAGER in anticipation for their favorite wrestler to appear on stage. When I say eager, I mean capital E.
The show got started and before you knew it, we were up on the jumbo tron! LOL hmmmm did we really stick out like sore thumbs??? Of course Ashton thought it was AWESOME!
I'm pretty sure we lost A LOT of brain cells that night. Preston kept shaking his head not sure how he ever thought this was cool as a kid. It is blatantly obvious how fake it is. Comical almost. Yet, these fans were emotionally charged. I even saw one guy wiping some tears from his eyes. Really?!?!
That was the night of the Vice Presidential debates and I'm pretty positive we had the ONLY kid in that arena that leaned over to me to whisper, "Be sure we leave in enough time to make it home for the debates!" HAHA
