Unfortunately Ashton's team's last game was last Saturday. They did not make it into the tournament this coming weekend, but I will tell you that this team REALLY really improved their game tremendously from the first game of the season till the last. Apparently this team has been together for two years, a group of homeschoolers actually from ICS, that Ashton just happened to be placed on their team by ACYS administration. From everything the coaches to the other team parents, they've really enjoyed having "new blood" on their team.
Ashton played defense and he was a FABULOUS defender. He really stepped up the the plate when it came time to defend his area. Rarely would something get by him. He really did play with his whole heart!
We missed team pictures (although I rarely buy the ones from the professionals anyways) due to a VERY rainy day the photos were scheduled on. Oh well...all the moms got the team together to snap our own photo session after the final game!
Of course the boys needed to do a funny shot after so much seriousness! :)
After all the pictures were done, the coaches gave out the end of the year medals and t-shirts, along with some individual words of affirmation!
Ashton is ALREADY missing his team A LOT. He really looked forward to twice a week practice with his team. They all plan on playing in door soccer starting in January, but for Ashton, that seems like light years away! :(
