Papa and Grandmommy got the boys new reels recently. Papa wanted to come over this morning to show the boys how to use them and fish with them. He brought the shiners, I made the coffee. It was 7:30am on a Saturday morning. Need I say more?!
Papa spent a lot of time doing this! The shiners seemed to die on the vine fairly quickly so new ones had to put hooked on far quicker than anyone would have liked.
Papa was actually the only one to catch a fish this morning, a 2 lb. bass! But not for lack of trying on the boys part. Ethan had this one shiner on his hook that was made of kryptonite. Nothing was going to stop him. We probably spent a good 45 minutes watching this shiner rip thru the water, dragging the bobber along behind it! We were completely surprised that some fish did not gobble him up with all the bravado in the water!
Even without personal victories, we had a GREAT time, learned a lot and really enjoyed having Papa with us for the morning!! Thanks Papa!
