We got to the boat early (sail time was 4:00pm, but we got there around 10:45am) and boy I'm sure glad we did! We were able to walk right up to the counter and get checked in. We also got the boys registered for the Kids Club activities! We were able to board the ship around 11:45 and they had lunch already waiting for us!Ashton was missing our dogs already, however, upon seeing the plethura of food that awaited us at the buffet, he quickly said "I no longer miss the dogs!"....as he licked his lips! LOL
Around 1:30 our rooms were available for us to go check out! We had adjoining rooms, with Preston and myself in one room :) and everyone else in the next room! The boys checked out what was playing on TV (which had really great shows 24/7....I never really realized just how many movies Disney has put out)
We opted for an inside stateroom to save on cost, and perhaps because we don't know what we are missing by having a window or a balcony, but the room was REALLY nice and ample size. There was separate shower and toilet area, a living room/couch area, and then a nice sized queen bed. We actually really liked not having any natural light filtering into the room...it made sleeping really awesome. There were no clocks in the room either, so we were really spaced out as to what time it was when we awoke in the morning, and quite surprised when we realized just how late it was...considering at home I can NEVER sleep in, even if I want to. Note to self: next home...build a master bedroom with NO WINDOWS! LOL
We toured around the ship...totally awesome boat... and even got to play a little one-on-one basketball with Mickey himself!
And of course, what cruise wouldn't be complete without fun animal shapes from towels and chocolates on your bed???
Castaway Cay was definitely the highlight of the trip. We would have loved to stay on their private island for more than one day...it was beautiful! I didn't take nearly as many pictures as I had intended to here...we went back to the boat in shifts before I could take some group shots.
That evening was Pirate Night aboard the ship! The boys were excited to participate! Ethan was Captain Jack Sparrow!!!
The kids, Ashton in particular, spent a lot of time in the Kid's Ocean Lab throughout the week! There was so many things for them to do there...video games, Ratitoullie Cooking School, Flubber making projects, movies and more... He LOVED it! On the day before last they had a show called "Friendship Rocks" were they had a video montage of the highlights for the parents to see and the kids got up on stage and did some dancing with Mickey and Minnie. Ashton was all about wanting to participate in this. He was so cute. You can see him with his hands up in the air...jumping up and down as he sang and danced!
We had such a marvelous time! Both boys hated to see it come to an end and wanted to know if we could go next month! LOL We are definitely going to be looking into the 2011 ship...it is going to be an awesome ship!
